Mage's Academy

The Mage’s Academy is Faia’s preeminent institution for magical education and research, functioning as a central hub for all mages. It provides structured training for all four affinities to any eligible Faian, no tuition required. Under the continued guidance of the four Archmages, the Academy is a crucial center of magical knowledge, dedicated to developing new spells and expanding Faia’s understanding of Affinity magic.

Purpose

Provide magical education and research, training generations of Faian mages.

Providing structured education in all four magical Affinities.

Collecting and preserving magical texts.
Training graduates to become local Mages for settlements.

HIERARCHY & MEMBERSHIP

The Mage’s Academy is led by the four Archmages. Next, there are Masters, who specialize in certain fields of Affinity magic. Finally, there are the Professors, who are responsible for general teaching and sometimes research. Professors sometimes have Assistants, though this is not needed most of the time. Any Faian with an activated affinity can enroll as a Rank I student, regardless of age.

STANDING & FUNDING

The Mage’s Academy is highly respected for its role in producing skilled Mages vital to Faia’s further development. The insitution is funded by donations, as there is no tuition for students, only a fee for room and board. Many Faians, especially those living in settlements with a trained local Mage, put aside wisps each month to donate and show gratitude.
