The writing because I don't know where else to put it:
It was a frigid winter night. Mulberry had set out on an adventure a few days prior to the winter storm beginning. She was usually prepared for events like this and always made sure she had shelter. This time however she did not. The bitter cold from the snow bit at her stubby legs and her thick coat of wax did little to keep her warm. The snow was deep and thickly packed in some parts. The large and heavy snowflakes stuck to Mulberry as she pressed onwards for shelter. After a few hours of walking in the snow and collecting visible frosted tips on her wax coat she found a large decaying tree in a clearing. She approached the decaying tree seeking shelter in its large tangling roots. She moved slowly towards the tree, the wind blew strong and howled like a raging beast threatening to knock her over. As she approached the tree she noticed that the shadow surrounding it seemed to be alive and moving. As she got closer to the roots the shadow writhed and began to take a small draconic form. The shadows twisted and bent under the starry night. White sclera appeared then lavender pupils formed with dark pupil slits for pupils. Large teeth sprouted from the maw of the beast as the shadows turned into sharp claws as the creature finished manifesting into reality. It didn’t take long before the beast noticed Mulberry. The creature was hungry. All eyes on the beast’s back, limbs, and head all looked at Mulberry eyeing her like she was the main course for a dinner that she didn’t know she was invited to. The beast’s claws scratched on the decaying bark of the wood. It hoisted itself up onto the roots and growled loudly as it crept forward towards Mulberry. Mulberry was frozen with fear her whole body was trembling uncontrollable. She began to slowly back away so as to not draw attention to herself anymore then she wanted to. The snow crunched loudly under her paws. The beast suddenly gave a loud roar and pounced towards Mulberry. Mulberry’s head snapped upwards at the sound just in time to see the beast start to pounce. She jumped back, turned on her haunches and made a break for the forest. The beast gave chase. Its large body and heavy weight caused it to sink into the snow making it difficult for it to gain distance on Mulberry. Mulberry was light and quick on her feet that the snow didn’t really affect her as she entered the forest. She didn’t even notice the cold anymore. She was running on adrenaline and fear. Once she was safe and far away from the beast she slumped down against a tree. It was cold, dark, and lonely. Mulberry was too far away from home to walk back today. It would have to wait till the storm cleared up, but the most important part of this adventure is that she’s still alive and well.
