[Gift] Naia and Neivra's Frostfire Displays
Naia had gone up to the room allocated to her and Neivra, the sounds of Magic sounded through the air. As she walked into the room, she saw Neivra at the windowsill, looking up towards the magical displays. She didn’t need to say much as the awe in her eye was enough for her to understand. Naia would clear her throat. “Beautiful aren’t they? Not a thing you would typically see underwater.” She would grin, trying to make her girlfriend laugh.
It worked, a weary chuckle left Neivra, turning to the Kelpie Noodle before turning back at the displays before them. She would quietly speak, a voice low and melodic, almost as if scared to speak at a higher volume. “Do they do this often? These displays?” Naia would look at the Deep Sea Noodle before looking back at the displays. There was silence before humming. “Perhaps. I would ask Cassie, but I’ve asked for far too much today.” She would joke.
“Do you think I can join their displays one day?” Neivra would quickly ask. “Once… you know, we don’t have to look over our shoulders any more?” Naia would smile, nodding in the process. She would nudge her muzzle against her cheek and hum. “I believe so. Cassie is a mage, she could probably help you get into the Academy. That’s how she started this whole crypt in the first place.” She would nod at the memories of her Parents telling her the news of Cassie’s graduation from the Mage academy and how she had gotten a sponsor.
“You will make the most wonderful displays, my dear.” Naia would place a kiss upon Neivra’s cheek before sitting beside her, watching the magic display from the window. Naia would continue on, “There’s so many things we can do up here. So many things you can try that you never had the time for. All we needed was to take the first step. And now, we have. What is there more to wait for? Nothing can get in your way anymore.” She would laugh, turning to her. “Nothing you need to worry about, not really any ways.” She would turn back to look out.
There would be a comfortable silence between the two, watching purples, reds, greens, and yellows fill the night sky. Sounds of hissing magic from splitting the frost air in two and the sound of joyous wyrmwicks as the night sky lit up was enough to fill the warmth of the two sea dwelling candle noodles. Far from duties, far from worries, far from titles that only weighed heavy upon their flames.
Naia would wrap her tail around Neivra, leaning into her as she said a couple more words, settling into her side in the process. “One of these days, once the waves have forgotten our names and we are only a whisper on the shores, we can explore past the reef. Looking for more adventures, learning about more people, and experiencing just about everything and anything you want to.” Naia would look towards Neivra and smile.
“Doesn’t that sound nice?”
