[Gift] Clover's Garden History

This isolated and secluded garden wasn't built from scratch by Clover; it was originally built by a group of traveling Ruptors in the distant past.

When Ruptors were the only species present, they built little villages to stop into temporarily on their travels. This garden is the ancient remnants of one of those villages, although its modern state barely resembles its origins.

The garden was originally built to grow herbs to use in brews which increased the hunter's strength and military prowess. This gave them an edge in hunting and assured their group never went hungry.

The ancient Ruptors received this powerful knowledge from the deities who created them, in this way they were prosperous while restlessly serving the deities.

But one day, all hell broke loose. Some envious Ruptor from a passing group had superseded the idea that they didn't need to serve the deities. That the deities were just taking their service for granted and that Ruptors would be much happier acting independently. 

Some Ruptors enjoyed the idea, especially those that had been corrupted by positions of power in Ruptor communities. Although power wasn't the cause of corruption in this Ruptor group, regardless half of the group decided to put this philosophy into practice.

The two divided halfs quickly began arguing, and soon they all began to struggle to fulfill their basic needs without the cooperation of the other half. This strained the whole group and made them a shadow of their former selves.

In their weakness they became vulnerable to attack. Soon all the arguing from these different groups escalated into war, and inevitably the group was attacking each other as well as being attacked from the outside.

At the end, the majority of them were slaughtered and the remaining few had to scatter away from the village. This ruthless attack included arson of their village, thus there was almost nothing left of the former village.

But there was one exception; the bare bones of the once glorious garden was still remaining, and blended into the ruins for many many years unnoticed... Until an aspiring master herbalist came across it during her research aboard.

Being a particularly bright Lumendra, she immediately saw the potential of this old garden. It was an irresistible opportunity, as it was in the perfect location for study of the famously mysterious Goldcrest Pond.

Luckily, she had already healed many a faia so she had a big friend pool to contact. The deal was that whoever helped her reestablish this garden would be entitled to any herbs grown in this garden whenever needed.

There were so many reasons to say yes. She was an up-and-coming master with a lot of potential. It was a good opportunity to study the magical Goldcrest pond and also to assist in healing the Faia population.

It didn't take her long to acquire the help she needed to rebuild the garden, as well as a cosy house overlooking Goldcrest Pond. She had a few Tortuvinas as well as Ruptors help her plow the land, gather local resources and use them to renovate the garden and a new home. They even helped her rebuild the well using stones and clay.

The result was simple but practical. She didn't mind the lack of opulence, she was overjoyed that she got the privilege to perform such special research. Little did anyone know that the well was linked to Goldcrest Pond itself, and what a boon that would be.

Once she settled in, everyone assumed she was one of the most talented gardeners in the Realm. But the truth is that her plants drinking Goldcrest water gave her a notable advantage. But to this day nobody knows…

Maybe one day a Ruptour from before the war will come to the transformed garden and realize her good fortune. She indeed found a four leaf clover.
