Memories and Starry Bouquets (Tiana's Bouquet Making!)
“Tiana, promise me something. You see that bright star in the sky? I won’t be far from you, I’ll be the brightest star in the sky for you.”
It’s been a month since Tiana has joined the Crypt Crew. It’s now Cometfall, the nights are getting shorter and the days are getting longer. Times like this Tiana thinks of the past, thinks of what led her to this place, to what she was doing at the current time. If it was even her calling at this point. She wasn’t sure, Cassie’s crew was sweet and all, but yet, she felt something was odd, she felt distant, outside, lost even. Then again, these feelings weren’t a stranger to her—in fact they were a constant reminder of what she had as a mother.
Tiana is preparing for the introduction of potentially new critters in their midst! The tortuvina was collecting flowers with a sparkle in them or that simply looked star shaped! She wanted to welcome the Comyts into their midst with open arms! Certainly her new job with Cassie’s Crypt is enlightening her to how the critters are welcomed. Not that she was complaining of course. She wasn’t inducted with such fanfare, she was simply looking for her young Boosha, Hazel. Little did she know she was going to be inducted within their little group. Of course, she enjoyed the thought of helping home critters and finding lost ones. It’s why she said yes!
This was mostly what she was thinking about, only the sound of the chitter of Ivy, the Sqovet she was paired up with, handing her a lovely flower, did she come back to the now. Tiana gave a small smile, taking in the star shaped flower before slotting it within the bouquet. She quietly hummed to herself, it was peaceful. She enjoyed this very much in comparison to the bustle of city life. She looked at the white flower before remembering Cassie’s suggestions.
“The four star-like petals seem to be a favorite of the Comyts. After all, they are hunters of comets, it’s why they carry their namesake. They seem to be happy with the flower, so I suggest you find those out in the fields. I believe some of them bloom beautifully around crash sights… I might have to research the truth in that.”
Tiana laughed at the memory, shaking her head in the process. She looked at Celadon, her Jellyfishfish—what a funny name, she thought to herself—who was warbling nearby, over seeing the way the flowers were being put together. The Jellyfishfish was a bit high class, not that she blamed the creature, made of soft jelly-like water, Celadon was a sensitive soul. Tiana couldn’t help herself and asked the perceptive critter a question. “Now Celadon, is this up to your standard?” She grinned, only to get a globulous warble in response. “I agree,” She joked, “I believe we need more baby’s breaths to make them look like stars.” She hummed. Celadon seemed to agree, floating off with Ivy in toe to find more baby’s breath. She delicately held onto the bouquet before checking on Hazel, making sure the boosha was situated on her misty back before using her extra appendages to fly off after her excitable critters.
The critters squeaked and chittered. She smiled before asking Hazel a question. “Do you want to hop around with them, little one?” She only got a chitter in response as she landed, allowing Hazel to safely hop off and bound through the beautiful fields that Cassie and the crew explored. She smiled, watching as the sun set around them, she was to prepare for the welcoming of the comyts. Some of the were most certainly to stay for a while. Suddenly, the sound of excited cries came from the critters, catching Tiana’s attention. Above them, in the already darkening sky, there was a falling star coming to grace the field before them.
The star streaked the sky with blues, purples, and pinks. It was a wispy stroke against the inky starry sky, a sign of life, of something out there. She’s been searching everywhere for a place she may call home, a place she was to be needed in. With the comet before them, burning bright as the hope in Tiana’s eyes, something changed within her that night. She closed them, breathed out and wished to keep her position within this group. She wanted to help, she wanted to explore, she wanted to feel alive. Her heart raced and shook, maybe this was the sign. The sign she needed to settle down, the sign was wanted in order to realize this was her purpose. She laughed, her tiny wings fluttered. Only one thought crossed her mind now.
Maybe it is meant to be.
