Let's party! (Let's part the sun and the sea!)

Duskie was minding his own business one day. It was early in the morning, the sun still making its way up the skies. He was off with Velvet to get some toys for faer, when he heard a rumor.

"A swarm of booshas attack people at night?" Duskie asked, cocking his head. "Then... then I'll fend them off!" He said, tail at the ready.

"... You're going to go 'but they're sooooooo cute' and let them eat you to shreds, aren't you?"

W- Why I- No!? It doesn't matter how cute they are, if they're trying to eat me up like I'm candy!

"Sure. I believe you. Sure. Odio, tell Duskie how much you believe him."

"Duskfall, if you yield to the cuteness of these beings, it'd be a disgrace to all of our kin-"

I'M NOT THE TYPE TO LET CUTE ANIMALS EAT ME! I SWEAR!

It was then that Duskie made the decision to go out into the forest at sunset and see what'd happen next.

The sun was setting. Velvet had chosen to occupy Duskie on this journey, and had also brought along Sprout, Duskie's sqovet, now named by Velvet itself. Sprout was currently fidgeting nervously with their hooves and looking around for danger.

"Alright... they should be attacking in three, two, one-"

Music and flashing lights suddenly overwhelmed Duskie's vision as a meteor storm of colorful bushes ran into the scene. Some slammed right into Duskie, causing him to lose his balance and to tumble over onto the ground.

Duskie got to his feet, sword tail at the ready. Sure, he had no idea how to use a sword tail, but he knew how to use a sword, and that was good enough, right? He surveyed the area to see... the booshas were dancing.

"Wait, what?"

The booshas are DANCING!

Indeed, the booshas- the ravenous booshas that attacked at night and terrorized 1994 thousand people ("Where'd you get that number from?")... were dancing.

Duskie... needed to dance with them.

"There is NO way-"

Quickly, Duskie got to work, going completely freestyle. His tail dragged against the ground at some moves, leaving marks, but- He was doing it! He was dancing!

"... How?"

I'm groovin'!

"Duskie. Duskie, we weren't a dancer as a human, we were a knight whose job was to protect a kingdom from monsters and demons and- Duskie, how are you dancing?!"

Duskie did not answer- instead, he kept on dancing- groovin', movin', vibin', you name it! He did it ALL!

"Let's party!" Duskie sung, boogieing alongside the booshas. "Let's part the sun and the sea!"

"What?"

Duskie and the booshas boogied so hard they boogied into a nearby town in the middle of the night, of when then the pack of wild animals then jumped into a town stall and ate all of the berries there as part of their dance moves.

Duskie tried to copy them, and ended up slamming his head into a nearby stall. It all went black after that.

"Forget that nine to five."

What? That voice calling out to Duskie was not Knight's-

"Wanna feel alive? The pyre’s will ignites..."

Between the sunset and sunrise

This night will never die

Duskie woke up alongside dancing booshas.

"You should probably get out of here before they either eat you or turn you into one of them." Knight suggested.

Absolutely not! Duskie got back to dancing. "Bump that beat and we can soar!" He jumped up as part of his dance and soared right over the dance floor. Until morning comes, they're dancing together- Duskie and the horde of booshas both!

"At least give them a new dance move that isn't 'Eat Everyone's For-Sale Crops'!"

"Nanananana!" Duskie sung. "Let's partyyyyyy~! Let's part the sun and the sea!" He danced towards an ocean, and as part of his dance moves, he dove into the water and snagged a fish!

The rest of the Boosha Horde jumped in with him, and Duskie watched as they all grabbed their own tiny fishes and paddled around the sea.

Duskie swallowed his fish whole. "We're just getting started here, guys! I'm going to name all of you and-"

Velvet glared at Duskie from a tree, having been left behind with Sprout in the resulting dance party from the ambush. Duskie gulped, blinked, and ran out of the water towards Velvet. "Sorry I left you behind, I-" He turned to see the booshas continue their dance... in the water.

"Ok, either you're directly responsible for the mass drowning of like 30 to 50 adorable wild creatures or you just got rid of this island's worst pain in the tailsword with the power of dancing." Knight said. "Actually, scratch that: Assuming they don't come back, you just got rid of this island's worst pain in the tailsword with the power of dancing. Whether it's because they all drowned or because they became a new species of water boosha isn't any of our problems, I think."

Duskie blinked, then turned back to look at Velvet. "... Nobody's going to believe this, are they?"

"I bet if you drew us in chalk on the sidewalk right now nobody'd believe you when you explain us."

Challenge accepted!
